Annual Fund

“The Annual Fund is a common initiative in which every member of the Gateway community partakes to realize the spirit of Elizabeth Freidus’ vision and further our mission.  Each gift is an acknowledgment of the need for and remarkable impact of the Gateway program on their child’s and family’s life.  It is the means by which we make every day at Gateway extraordinary.”
– Carolyn Salzman, former Head of School

The Annual Fund is the most essential fundraising effort underway at Gateway. It is a collective undertaking by the community to meet the annual operating needs of the school, since tuition covers only two-thirds of the cost of educating a Gateway student.

Each student benefits directly from gifts to the Annual Fund. It helps pay for everything from financial assistance and our professional development program to technology upgrades and interest expense on our debt. Moreover, the Annual Fund is a symbol of our community members’ shared commitment to this generation of Gateway students. Important dollars are raised every year from across the community, and the breadth of this sponsorship reflects an abiding belief in Gateway’s ability to help each student realize his or her potential.

Gateway is grateful for the continuous and remarkably generous support it receives from the parents, grandparents, and friends of current students and alumni. Visit the Giving page for ways to give to the Annual Fund.

The Annual Fund vs. The Spring Gala
The Annual Fund and the Spring Gala serve different purposes. The Annual Fund is the school’s highest fundraising priority. Without the Annual Fund, the school would be forced to make difficult decisions regarding teacher hiring, academic and extracurricular programming, and equipping our facility. The Spring Gala takes place every year and is a major community-building event. Sponsorship helps to underwrite the expenses of the event and allows us to keep the ticket price low. Additionally, proceeds from this annual event provide much-needed budget support for general operating expenses.
